The Pulse: Anthropic builds its own source control system
Git had too many performance problems at 30,000 PRs per day, so Anthropic built its own. I talked with the team, including asking why they didn’t open source its new system, ‘Scion.’

Static Analysis for the Uninitialized
Static Analysis for the Uninitialized
I really enjoy learning new things in my free time. Lately I’ve been studying this book on Static Program Analysis. The book is very good, but some of the formulas are quite dense so I like to try writing them out in code. The chapter I’m currently reading (chapter 9) has a section on finding possibly-uninitialized variables using bipartite graphs. I’ve found it to be quite enjoyable, so in this post I would like to describe, in my own words, how to do it. We’ll start by analyzing some code from a toy programming language the book uses called “TIP”, and then we’ll use the techniques we developed to analyze some Ruby code.

Reducing storage initialization impact in Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL after snapshot restore | Amazon Web Services
Reducing storage initialization impact in Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL after snapshot restore | Amazon Web Services
When you restore an Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL instance from a snapshot, the Amazon EBS volume hydrates lazily, so early queries can run 10x to 15x slower. This post walks through PostgreSQL-native prewarming techniques (pg_prewarm, VACUUM ANALYZE, and full table scans) and new monitoring fields to restore predictable performance faster after restore.

Fixing Critical Node & PHP Flaws | Devin
Fixing Critical Node & PHP Flaws | Devin
On October 21, 2026 the PHP and Node.js projects released security updates addressing vulnerabilities that can allow remote code execution. We packaged the remediation workflow we used ourselves into Vulnerability Fixes, an open-source plugin for Devin and any coding agent: it identifies affected repositories, asks before changing anything, patches each deployment to a verified fixed version, tests before and after, and opens one focused PR per repo.
