Still way beyond cool: resurrecting the Doomguy TDD loop
Still way beyond cool: resurrecting the Doomguy TDD loop
It was my first few months with Ruby. I was running through everything I could find, still figuring out what made this language different. One day I landed on an old blog post titled “Way beyond cool: autotest + growl + Doomguy”. The date read 2007. The screenshots showed a Doom Marine face — smiling when the tests passed, bleeding more with every failure.

Nate Berkopec on X: "This skillslop repo is 2,500 words of skills and 1000 LOC. Their own README shows that its barely more effective than just this: “Follow YAGNI principles, and prefer one-liner solutions.” Getting 10% better results with 1000x the amount of code and tokens is SLOP. https://t.co/CBVan9NiK1" / X

redhat-et/ripwire: The ripgrep of AI context: a zero-dependency C++23 CLI + MCP server for coding agents. Find what you want without reading the repo, then check you built what you meant — blast radius, tests-to-run, quality deltas. Signatures at 74.7% fewer bytes than bodies; every guess labelled, every loss published. Paddle out with a map.
